Kudos to Kel-Tec

I recently started having a problem with my P32 where I would experience light primer strikes/ failures to fire when performing rapid fire excersises. Couldn't get it to fail in slow fire but it would ALWAYS give me a light primer strike in rapid fire.

After a call to Kel-Tec and a brief chat with the gunsmith, it was determind that the little P32 had to go back to Cocoa for a look see. Since I live in Central Florida I asked the smith if I could drop it by for repair to save me the shipping charges. No probem.

Well, my contract was fulfilled last friday, so having the day off yesterday I decided to drive the coast for a little fishing and while I was over that way I'd drop by Kel-Tec and drop of the P32.

When I arrived I introduced myself and the nice young lady apparantly recognized my name and seemed to be aware of my problem. I stayed in the waiting area, where they have a display of all their current products, while she took the P32 for a look.
I heard her test firing the gun as I was near their indoor range, and a few moments later she came out and said she was able to duplicate the problem. She said that she replaed all the lower internals as well as the polymer grip, and I was on my way. My stop at Kel-Tec was no more than ten minutes

Thanks to all the folks at Kel-Tec. That was customer service at it's best.

I second that story

Kel-Tec stands behind their products, and offers great service. And got a great lookin' gunsmith [a she, you guys] :D

Mark King, how did you get someone on the phone that knew something about their products? Did you say anything unusual? Was it because you threatened to show-up at their place? Just wondering, because I have a friend's P32 that's been out of commission for months. He is mad at me for recommended it, so I'd like to get it fixed.z

I just got my P11 back from service. It took a few weeks, not bad. They seem to have replaced the slide, but the new slide doesn't allow the slide release to be activated without pulling the slide back. I spoke to Cliff (I think that was his name), and he told me that it wasn't a slide release, but rather a "slide stop", and that I should properly release the slide by pulling it back. I wasn't too happy with the explanation, but Cliff did agree to file it down if I wanted. As much as we bash S&W, they have had the best customer service I've used (aside from Dillon).

You can talk to one of the gunsmiths at KT about anytime, no threats necessary. They are happy to help. Don't see how you read his message as a threatening to show up & that's the only reason they talked to him.

"Now if they'd just put an external safety on'em & send a few out for drop testing......"

I'd say that there's a better chance of you moving out of the PRK. ;)

When I started having the problem with my P32, I called Kel-Tec and the receptionist transferred me directly through to Cliff, their gunsmith.

I described the problem I was having and he suggested the gun come in for repair.

I then asked if it would be okay if I dropped it off for the repair Cliff replaied that it would not be a problem.

I really expected to have to leave the gun and have it shipped back to me when complete. It was quite a pleasant surprise when they made the diagnosis and completed the repair while I waited.
