Kudos to Kahr

I recently purchased a Kahr MK40 and after putting a 100 rounds through the little gun I was disgusted. It jammed every other round with Sellier&Bellot ammo; but when I tried Federal Hydrashock it did allright, had one jam in 50. Then when I cleaned the gun I noticed a ding in the barrel hood, and the slide had a catch when you pulled it.

I sent the gun back to Kahr, and I just got it back and finally took it to the range. MEGA APPLAUSE to Kahr's customer service and Gunsmith. Every problem plus some has been fixed beautifully. I even suspect that I know have the Elite trigger on my gun. This Kahr functioned flawlessly on the range, not one jam. I also shot as well at 7 yards with my Kahr as I do with my Colt Officer's Model. MEGA KUDOS to Kahr.

If you even want a good mouse gun(pocket gun) or have trouble carrying a larger gun because of your physical makeup. Let me be the First to recommend Kahr. I want to buy another one. BRAVO KAHR!!!!! :) :) :)

amprecon, have you fired a Kahr 40? If so, and you consider the recoil minimal you are a better man than I. My tolerance level so far is 70 180gr rounds sent down range. I also have a Kahr 9 Economy Model that is really starting to grow on me. I do not think Kahrs are good carry guns until you have about 200 rounds through them and then they seem to be great. I know this is the recommended practice but I think it applies to Kahrs more than others. Do I have examples? Yes, my Glocks and Sigs have never missed a beat. Regards, Richard.

I concur on Kahr's customer service - they're great.

I have a low S/N MK40 that developed a problem after about 200 rounds - the slide would lock back halfway though the magazine.

I emailed Kahr and they apparently knew about the problem, as they immediately acknowleged it via email and sent me a replacement slide stop assembly. It has since functioned perfectly with FMJ's and JHP's.

Regarding recoil, a range session usually does scrape up the webbing at the base of the thumb/between the thumb and index finger, and leave that area a bit bruised/tender. This is after about 75 rounds. I've never shot more than 175 in a session, and that was a stretch. YMMV.

It's worth it to get so much punch in such a small package.

Yeah, my MK40 has a little problem with rust, I hope it will be happy in a Blade-tech holster that I am going to order.

As far as low serial no, so was mine I mean it appears to be in the first 10 that rolled out of the factory.

Recoil, you feel it with the MK40 but my other favorite gun is a .454, and comparatively the Kahr is a little more comfortable. :D
