Kudos to Johnny's Reloading Bench

After watching his YouTube video on the Nosler 40 gr. Ballistic Tip in the .223 Remington (using an AR15 with a 1 in 7 twist barrel) I decided to give them a try using Reloader 7. I was IMPRESSED!

I know if Bart reads this he will admonish me for not shooting a bigger sample group but I'm still pretty pleased! The sight-in shots with target pasters weren't bad either!

Five round group was shot at 100 yards.

Rifle: Savage Model 12 with Lothar Walther Barrel (24 inch, 1 in 12 twist, 6-groove)

Bullet: Nosler 40 gr. Ballistic Tip
Powder: Alliant Reloader 7 22.7 grs.
Primer: Remington 7 ½
Case: Winchester .223 Remington
LOAL: 2.260

Try the Berger match 55 grains, I bet you could repeat that group, or better.

If those groups can be had using a AR15 platform, you will and should get better in your bolt masterpiece

It's a McMillan Remington Hunter... I can't remember the color proportions but I think 50/50 Medium Blue & Black.

What is the front and rear rest you are using?

Wow! I need to check in more often! The Front is a Sinclair Generation II and the rear bag is by Edgewood.
