Kubotan training

Hi, all,

My wife is interested in getting some training in the use of a kubotan (or similar compliance device) for self-defense. How can we find someone who knows whereof he or she speaks?

Well, it's been nearly two decades since I was forced to visit the Least Coast ;) but ISTM that you're not too far from New Hampshire and Masaad Ayoob...
 
I took the class year from Mas while he was doing out LFI 2 class in Illinois. HEre are a few things to remember. It is hands on training. Hands on training means you are going to get bruised. battered and tattered. Having said that I would reccomend his class to anyone. I watched the instructors daughter take down a 300 pound guy inthe class and make him yell "Mommy".

Hav eher take that class. Take a baggie and plenty of ice foer her wrists but hav eher take the class.

Contact ASP and ask them who their certified trainers are in your area. They will offer baton training and would be a good source for knowledge on the kubaton training as well.

Also, some police and sherriff depts. offer self defense training that she could use. Our local college offers BASIC kubaton self defense...maybe your local university does as well.
