Krieghoff K-80 sporter...

offer on the table for a locally owned K-80 30" standard grade sporter. Pretty gun none the less and in 90% condition. Couple little handling marks, that's about it. My only concern is the enormous weight of this gun, compared to most sporters. Too bad it's not a K-20...

Anyway, I should know something by tomorrow...

not the gun, but this is the exact model...

Do it. The K-gun weight isn't that much more than similar target guns particularly with 30" barrrels. That extra weight soaks up recoil and smooths out the swing. The triggers are amazing as is Krieghoff's service should you ever need it. Even if you find you don't care for it they are not difficult guns to sell if the time ever comes.

I've shot them already, very nice guns indeed. But, I'm pretty much a 20 gauge shooter anymore. That's why my remark about a K-20. But for the right price, I can shoot a 12 again...

You can always have Briley or Kolar get you a set of 20 gauge tube inserts, OR make you a set of 20 gauge barrels to fit.........;)

1ozL, I'm not into 12 pound guns!! Never will I buy tubes. I like 20's because of the reduced profile, weight and frame size. If my offer is accepted, I'll shoot the gun a couple of times to see how we get along. If we don't, check the sales boards. I'll at least make a few bucks on it...

Man.....you have a worse attention span than I do ....

You go from wanting an 1100 LT 20ga ....to a K-80 ....geez...:D

( now I hope you get the K-80 ) ...because personally I think its a great gun .../ and maybe Santa can bring you a Krieghoff 20ga for xmas...( I don't like tubes either ...unless you get a carrier barrel --- and you're into it for another $ 4,000 or so at that point..).

Slugo - one of my K-80 friends had a set of 28 gauge tubes made for him by Kreighoff - gun weight and balance stayed the same - right about 9# and balance point about 1/2" in front of the hinge pin

While great guns, I have never liked the double palm swell - just doesn't feel right in my hands, but even at 9#, it does balance very nicely between the hands

Jimbo, my attention span is worse than my two kids, when they were growing up! Shotguns are like mosquito bites, you have to scratch them no matter where they're at... ;)

Hey, we all understand.... go get em Tiger...../ we've got our fingers crossed for you - that your offer is accepted !

....a man cannot live with just one or two shotguns per gague...;) He can --- but imagine how sad it would be ....??? :(

yes, but for me ....its about having fun ....and "accumulating guns" is not a bad thing...a man has to have a hobby ...!!

But my buddy Zippy is right ...if I were real serious about competition ( and were 20 yrs younger ) ...a Krieghoff K-80 with a full carrier barrel and a full set of Briley or Kolar tubes would be a must have investment ! ...or maybe a Blazer or a Perazzi ...but probably a K-80.

Too bad you missed out - you might try a "Want to Buy" ad at any of your local trap/skeet/sporting venues. Someone might be upgrading, retiring, changing guns, etc., and would rather deal FTF with a fellow club member

maybe a god send. If I spring for a K-gun, and that's still a big if, I will most definitely go for a K-20 sporter. The only reason I made an offer on the K-80 was, I thought the seller would go for my price, it was reasonable. He's keeping it for now, which shows what a tight market there is right now...

I've yet to figure out why a K 80 weighing 9 lbs feels heavier than a Kolar weighing nigh 10....

Sorry you missed out. Better luck next time.
