Nothing but a personal preference: I would not carry a striker fired weapon that did not have a positive safety similar in use to a 1911.

I know that thousands of folks do; leo's, military, civilians, gov't folks, . . . but it's not for me, . . .

Of all the firearms out there, . . . I personally believe the Glock is the most dangerous of the bunch.

YMMV

May God bless,
Dwight

How a cop carries a pistol a glock is safe, Mexican carrying a glock with a flimsy soft shell holster isn't a good idea, unless you also Israeli carry it but that requires two hands to operate.

I'm shocked to hear so many of the same issues with the glock, not a fan but do respect their reliability.

Knoxville PD sidearm selection...

I posted the same topic about 4 weeks ago.
The dept could have waited 4-6mo & purchased the new SIG "Classic" P227R .45acp as a duty sidearm.

There is nothing wrong with the .40S&W as a police duty caliber. The new Hornady 175gr .40S&W Critical Duty is great.
Many sworn LE agencies issue the .45acp too but it's not better than a .40 or .357sig IMO.
