Knock off ACOG or HOLO help

Hello,

Ive seen alot of these Knock off ACOGs, and HOLO sights for my AR.
I dont have the kind of cash for a TRUE Trijicon now so I have been looking at some of the Knock offs.

Does anyone have any of these? Care to share your experience or recommend one for my AR?

Thanks!

Not really. :p

The "knock-offers" hope the prospective buyer is more interested in the ACOG look than the actual quality and function. I think they sell lots of them to AirSoft, paintball and replica gun folks.

I can't recommend because I don't know what your max $$$ is. If it's real low, I probably can't recommend at all.

Cheers,
C

I understand.

I had done some searching and there seem to be some positive reviews from guys that just wanted some glass, that looked nice, and worked decent, for plinking. Sometimes I dont trust reviews from the same page as the seller..

There are a few im looking at, one is a KO ACOG and its right under $200.

I would LOVE to own a real one. I got to play with several REAL trijicon scopes at a 2A day shoot, and i fell in love. I know there are some "budget" aimpoints too. I might look that way

For around $200 bucks you could get an ULTRA Dot which is a pretty darn good dot optic. Much better then the Airsoft knockoff stuff.

Sorry... I was thinking more along the lines of a Burris Fastfire Holo.

For an AR, I like a little holo because you have the option of mounting it in a 45 degree offset and run a actual magnifying rifle scope on top in a QD.

Cheers,

That Burris is SWEET. I really like the sleek look. In my price range too.

Im an "entry" AR guy. I have got to shoot alot of them, and played with alot of the new scopes, but I kinda new to all the new high tech stuff.

My buddy had an AR, with a Trijicon, and a holo sight. If he flipped a switch, the scope swiveled off to the side so the Holo was only there. It was real neat. Im gunna have to try and get a hold of him to find out what kind of set up that was.

The AR I have is a long model. Full length barrel, solid stock. Thats what I wanted. I will be plinking things outside, no hardcore target shooting, No greater than 200 yards, mostly in the 75-125 yard range. Thats why I was thinking more of one of the light maginification ACOG type scopes.

Unless im way off, point me to a low cost scope that would work for me, I would prefer a "dot" type. That worked VERY well for me. His Trijicon was top notch...I was blown away with the quality and clarity of that piece.

another vote for the strike fire. Ive got two and other then less battery life they seem to be every bit as good as my aimpoints.

Hey, being that Ive carried both on missions in Afghanistan and put hundeds of rounds down range with both, I understand your fondness of the two. I prefer the ACOG over the Holographic sight personally, however. Both are versatile durable optics (if you will).
For an alternative, I would NOT reccomend a "knock off". The clones are weak and do not have precise static lines for measuring and adjusting your outgoing. I would strongly reccomend you look into the Leupold VX-R Patrol optics they have to offer for an alternative to the ACOG. Also, Leupold has the new Delta Point red dot sight made with a magnesium outter housing, making it very tough for rugged work. If you are in the military, you can get the 40% off military discout EASILY. With discount it becomes the most affordable quality non-knock off alternative. If your not in the military, they are still worth their full value and can be found cheaper than on their website.
