knock down steel

I would like to try knockdown steel.

I shoot indoor PPC with a 1911 and a Ruger MK 1 both with red dots due to eye problems and am very successful.

Any suggestions for an outdoor red dot that will not "disappear" due to bright sunlight?

THX.

I've got an illuminated reticle scope on my 308. Usually I don't even turn on the illumination, but I lights up in red or blue, I find the blue easier to see in bright sun.

Red will work just fine in any light outside.

I've shot both the can type sights (Tasco PD3, PD4 and PD5) and open face sights (C-MORE, Tasco and Doctor), I personally shoot faster accurately with can type sights.

Dot size an intensity will be the factors you are dealing with as far as the dot bleaching out, no matter which type of sight you choose.

Best Regards
