Knob Creek this year. What's it going to be like?

Just wondering what everybody's thoughts are on the up coming machine gun shoot at Knob Creek. Not politically, but commercially. With the crazyness in ammo availability what will distributors row look like? We usually stock up on ammo every year, and pick up a few C&R treasures from Cole's. But who knows what this year will bring. Then there is the availability of ammo to the shooters. I'm guessing numbers approaching, If not exceeding a million rounds total for the weekend for all the shooters.
Still making the trip, wouldn't miss it. The only time in the past 10 years my group of friends hasn't gone has been when they cancelled due to flooding, or the NRA Convention was the same weekend.
 
You've been going long enough to recognize that you (and many other repeat visitors) aren't going just to watch someone else shoot their fun guns and ammo. It's a fantasy for first-timers to watch or to rent an MG and shoot on the lower range. But after a while, it's about meeting up with friends and acquaintances, seeing something new, and shopping the booths. Eventually, it comes down to whether there is something new to see or how good the vendors are, because if it's just to see friends and acquaintances, you could do that somewhere else.

I know of several vendors who have given up their spot in the last few years. They said it wasn't worth their time and money. Hopefully they are replaced by other good vendors, otherwise the "swap meet" part will decline and many buyers will not return. If they don't have guns and ammo to sell, this year, that will hurt. Hopefully there will be plenty of newbees who want to see the main firing line, if that's the case.

There have also been other "machine gun shoots" popping up around the country. These are closer and more convenient to many more people. The more things change, the more they stay the same. If it changes in a way you don't like, you may not return. If it stays the same, it gets stale and you may not return,

but I'll take Booker's first every time.

Armorer-at-Law, you are exactly right. To us it's an event. A visit to Churchill Downs on our way. A tour of Jim Beam Distilleries, and dinner at a Mexican restaurant we enjoy. The shoot, the military gun and equipment show, distributors row and tailgating in the parking lot all add up to a great celebration of American freedoms.
I have noticed a decline in offerings by the vendors in the past few years. We didn't go last year because of the NRA convention dates conflicted. But I have noticed our usual first stop, the Cope's Distributors tent has not had the large number of firearms as they did several years ago. I've added to my C&R collection several times from Cole's in the past.
This year is bound to be different than all before, but I hope it is well attended by those who want to show their support for out Second Amendment rights.
 
On a side note, the new high bridge has been in operation for a couple months. I'm sure the full width will be finished by the shoot. No more closures due to flooding!
