Knight muzzle loader

This weekend my lovely wife bought me a Knight DISC rifle for my birthday. 50 cal, 22 inch barrel, will take 150 grains of pyrodex, Leupold Vari-X II 3x9 on top. Im just fired up about, it and figured you guys would understand.

I've got the same rifle. It's super-accurate with 2 50 gr 777 pellets under a hornady 240gr XTP sabot. It also shoots the 300 gr. SST-ML lock-n-load round with 3 50 gr. 777 pellets really well. I just find that the latter is too punishing to use for hunting in the woods.

The only thing I don't love is cleaning it.

Fort Hunterliggett is already reqired to have non-toxi bullet. How make them and can I run down to my trusty Wal-mart for it??

Glad you got you a new toy. Now you have plenty of time before deer season 2008 to get it dialed in just perfect. I am a T/C man but my brother in law has a knight disc rifle and has taken some monster deer with it.

great gun

You have a great gun, just take the time to figure out what yours like in bullets and powder. Mine does fantastic with 120 grains of Triple 7, triple 7 primers and Barnes spitfire sabots bullets, 245 grains. Very accurate, very repeatable. I picked up a Knight american for my son with a 22 inch barrel, shooting 85 grains of triple 7 with a 200 grain bullet he took two deer at aprox 80 yards. They work like a dream.

I bought a D.I.S.C. when they first came out. It has been super accurate with (3) pryodex pellets (150 gr) and a Barnes 250 gr. copper 'Red Hot", .45 cal sabot bullet.

Got a cheap 3x9 whatever mounted on it. Only problem I ever had was getting the breach plug out (two flat model). I called Knight one day to buy a new (4th time) wrench. They sent me (free) an new breach plug I could install and remove with a regular socket wrench. Problem gone.

And yeah, I used their grease on the threads every time... and removed it within 24 hrs. after every shot.

I have a NIB Kinght Disc if anyone is looking for one. I got it as a gift, but it is not legal as a Black-Powder rifle here in Oregon. I could use it during regular rifle season, but son't see the sense in that.

PM me if interested.

Did anyone notice the OP was in 2000....
