Knight Disc Rifle Reclassified as Antique!

Just got a long fax from Knight Rifles explaining that the Disc rifle has been reclassified as an antique by the BATF, and will no longer be controlled by their offices as a modern longgun.

This does not affect PA and CO in their crusade against "in-line" Muzzle loaders, but it does suggest that more states may not follow in their footsteps.

No, actually they are acknowledging the decision of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. The ATF sent a letter to one of the Senate Appropriations subcommittees "clarifying" their position on the status of the Disc rifle as an antique. This was in response to the bill H.R. 4104, which would amend GCA to specifically include rifles like the Disc.

The cynic in me suggests that they may be hoping that HR4104 gets dropped in reaction their "clarification" and they then "clarify" again that the Disc is again required to be treated like a modern firearm.
