I am not able to shoot my ultra elite as accurate as my G30 or G19. Why is that ? When I first got the gun I thought I was accurate until I started putting thousands of rounds through my glocks and not shooting my kimber. What can I do to be able to go back and forth without losing confidence in the kimber ? If not, I think I may have to sell the kimber and buy two glocks. thanks

How's the trigger on the Kimber? Mine needed a little work to get it straightened out. That REALLY helped.

About switching guns...I go back and forth between a Kimber, a Glock27, and a 3"629. Now talk about culture shock! Lots and lots of PROPER practice switching guns seems to help. Fire a mag or three in one gun and then switch to another gun. Just make sure that you are focusing on doing your best marksmenship. I start hosing once in a while and have to remind myself to slow down and pay attention. If I practice every couple weeks or more, the feel comes back for each gun and the score and the speed come up.

For me the Glock is more of a natual pointer. I shoot my UE with my thumb on top of the safety and added an Ed Brown wedge housing to make it point and feel more like the Glock. I shoot the two equally well now, although it takes a few rounds to make adjustments to the .45. Don't give up on the UE.

Best results with three Ultra Elites and custom-loaded gun-specific ammo was 2.8" at 20 yards handheld.

Good enough for defense....

Though accurate, the UE is not a target gun. It's designed for conceal carry. If you bought it for a target pistol, you're only fooling yourself. I shoot very good groups with my UE but the pounding my arm takes is horrible. However, if you want a target gun, get a full size 1911.

By all means, sell the Kimber UE and get two Glocks if you don't use the UE as a carry weapon. Personally, I will never buy another Glock again. I had three but now only have the G30. Everybody has their own preferences. Don't allow others to push theirs upon you.

I think the deal here is that the angle of the grip frame is different on the Glock vs the 1911 style guns.

If you shoot Glocks accurately, you will probably find yourself hitting low with the Kimber. I know when I switch between the two it takes a little while to adjust.

If you practice more with the Kimber you will probably make the adjustment.

Thanks guys, It is just that when I first bought my UE back in october since then I had put less than 300 rounds. At first I was accurate. I loved the gun so much that I only carry it and never shot it again. Instead I have been going to the range at least three times a week and putting thousands of rounds with my glocks (1 1/2 inch grouping at 25 feet). So I guess it was muscle memory, because when I took out the the UE I was low to the left and three-four inch grouping at 25 feet. I guess have have to stop babying my UE and start using it. Thanks

I have pretty much given up on any pistol but 1911s. My Ultra Elite shoots great, but it is a small gun. Sight alignment is obviously more critical. If you keep jumping around between styles of guns you may not truly master any of them. I love SIGs, but they feel like 2X4s after using my 1911s for a couple of months with no SIGs. If you like your Glocks, perhaps something like a G26, or G27 would be better for you than the UE. No way I would do that. ;)
