Kimber Test

etc

New member
OK

I have been bemoaning the new 1911's and have been taken to task by the gang here.

I have a compact Kimber on the way. I will test it as follows:

1 I have 3000 rounds of assorted factory amm to run through the gun. Key word here being factory. Mostly 230g hardball, some 185 to 230 jhp's.

I have ordered 2 Wilson 7 round mags and 4 metalform 7 round mags to use for this test.

The test will consist of drawing the Kimber from a Milt Sparks Summer Special and from a Kramer belt scabbord.

The time frame will be on the weekend of the 1st of April.

I will document the results in regard to reliability and accuracy. I think we all know that this size gun is concealable.

It will be fun,and I hope beneficial---if any one is in the Texas hill country or close by,please come help!

Thanks!

Cool, running 3,000 rounds through a quality firearm sounds like a blast. Let us know how it works out and I hope you enjoy your new pistol.

etc:

Don't forget to follow the break-in procedures for the Wilson's mags. I had a bit of difficulty with a couple of the 8 rounders that has has been cured after use.

Can't wait to hear the results of your tests.

JJCII---thtas why I went with the 7 round mags. The old timers I learned pistol shooting from said to always use the 7 round mags as the springs were stronger, aiding to reliability.

I'll ley you guys know what happened!

etc,

Where ya gonna be runnin this test? Hill Country? Reds? Cooks? Or out in one of the "suburbs"? :D
