I didn't find it searching, and its not blatantly obvious on their site, but what is Kimbers warranty? I am looking more at the Custom II. Is that a single stack? What is its capacity?

Thanks

The warranty is 1yr but I have heard they will honor it longer??
And yes that model is a single stack holds 7 rounds. Hope this helps. :D

Is the magazine you need for this, a standard 1911 7-rounder?

Is it this one?

They may work well enough for the range. For carry and self defense I wouldn't trust my life to a 7$ magazine in a 600$+ gun. Your funeral though.

Don't go cheap with magazines. They're the number one cause of malf. in 1911 pistols.

Stay away from 10-rounders as well, except for range use.

Spend the dough & get Wilsons 7 or 8 rounders.

7 or 8 round Wilson mags is exactly right. You'll spend more money but you will remove the mag as a cause of FTF.

Wilson mags are excellent as are Chip McCormick Power mags (better spring than the shootin stars). You can order Wilson stuff directly from the company at http://www.wilsoncombat.com I like to replace the plastic bumber with their lower profile black steel one -- very slick. McCormick mags can be bought from the factory at http://www.chipmccormickcorp.com

Occassionally Natchez sooting supply will have one or both on sale and then I buy a couple more for good measure http://www.natchezss.com

Definitely use a good quality magazine for carry or self defense, or matches that you want to win :)

I would also get the Wilson mags they are very good ones. A little pricey but not bad when you think of what you paid for the gun. :D

Colt factory (w/horse) are best, imho. They work about as foolproof as a magazine can. Wilson work ok if you don't mind a plastic floorplate that sticks out the bottom of your grip. Not any better than a genuine Colt, though. Wilsons are best is a myth of gundom.

Wilsons are fine mags, and make a lot of 1911s run, but they make some 1911s choke. Try them, but don't rule them out as a cause of malfunctions just because they say "Wilson" on them.

I have one Colt mag for my Kimber and it's worse than the Shooting Stars. I've picked up some Wilsons, based on recommendations here, but haven't had a chance to go shooting in a long time. :(

If you find any GI mags (they have a long number on the floorplate) at a gunshow or advertised you can't go wrong with those. If they don't work a Wilson or Colt or you-name-it won't help. There's sompin wrong w/ yer pistol. Besides which, they cost about $5 each  super bargain:eek:

I still like the horsey mags, myself. second best are the GIs. ;)
