Kimber Pro CDP II mag release problem

Maybe not a major issue, but when pressing the mag. release hard, the magazine doesn't release. Ease up a little, or don't push too hard in the first place, and it works fine.

Does it with Kimber mags and also Wilsons.

I have a Sig P229 that does that with some magazines.

Anyone know the cure.

I don't see the solution as simply not pushing too hard, since under stress, that might be a hard thing to remember. Thanks for your replies.

Back of the release needs to be relieved some with a dremel tool and and a rotary sander drum, just sand away a bit of metal at the sloped area on the releas closest to the "button" end NOT the "catch" end. Then reblue or bead blast back out if it is S/S. Remember a little at a time till it releases cleanly.

Easier to take off the metal than put it back on!!

Thanks, 94Girl. That's exactly what my Gunsmith did.

The catch was going in so far that the rounded part of the catch (opposite the release), that you pointed out, would hit the mag. and prevent it from dropping until I let up on the pressure.;) He just dremmeled in small steps until it released even when pushing in hard.;)
