Kimber pro carry owners: help

Last night I was cleaning and oiling my standard Pro Carry, and felt some wiggle. There's a few thousandths of an inch of lateral play at the rear of the slide. I checked for any signs of problems, but couldn't find any. It's been a long time since I examined the gun, so I can't remember if there was any play there before. Do any of you Pro Carry owners notice the same?

I don't own a Pro Carry yet. I have been shopping around for a good price on a Pro CDP and can tell you I've never noticed this at all.

Have you tried the unofficial Kimber forum? You can reach it through the Kimber webpage. The link is on the lower righthand corner of the page. Go through http://www.kimberamerica.com . There is also http://www.1911forum.com . I found lots of comments there.

I hope this helps.

Is it still shooting as well?

I have a ultra compact and I don't have any play in my slide. Is it affecting performance? On the other and, its still tighter than a colt.

Have had MAJOR problems with FTF on my pro carry polymer, even with ball ammo. Kimber has it back and if I can't get 500 rounds of ball through it with no FTF it's for sale.

I just checked it again. If I grab the slide at the rear on the serrations, I can feel it move side to side. Eyeballing it, the movement looks to be maybe .001" to .003". Not a lot, but I just don't remember any movement before. The gun hasn't been shot in awhile, but I wear it almost all the time. Weird.
