Kimber Polymer Pro Carry

Buzz-you might check the archives here.I remember that recently one of our members posted something in regard to Kimber discontinuing this model although I can't recall the exact reason-seem to recall it having something to do with the steel insert in the polymer frame.I have heard this nowhere else however...

I owned a full size Kimber Polymer for about a year. My brother liked shooting it so much that he bought it from me. I still shoot it quite a bit, though. It had some feeding issues in the beginning but since breaking it in it's been completely reliable. Actually the reliablity issues were most likely attributable to the cheap ammo I was using (American Ammunition} because I've never had a problem with any other brand. The recoil is mild and accuracy is excellent. I always look forward to a range session this gun.

Are there any new opinions, anecdotes, etc. concerning the Polymer Pro Carry? I noticed it got a write up by Gila May Hayes recently.

Not specific to the Pro-carry, but a couple of members of my IPSC club shoot Bull M5s ( makers of the Kimber frame), one in 45 the other in 40. the 40 is around the 3000 round mark, the 45 approaching 15000, all full power handloads. No problems at all when I've been around to watch. The frames have stood up well, with no noticable defects.

No problem out of mine - sorry just a plain SS full size. With UMC ammo, the most accurate .45 of anyone I normally shot with. Mine had feeding issues at first but I did some smoothing of rails, feed ramp and breechface with a Dremel and some polish and works like a charm ever since. Loaded with 13rds in the mags, I love the feel of this gun.
