Kimber Micro9

I bought one about six months ago. I took an almost instant dislike towards it. It was not at all what I expected. Took my son to the range to try it and his first words were "I don't like it." Trigger is nothing to brag about. Sights good. The safety rubbed a raw spot on my thumb. It was accurate enough. Just did not appeal to me. I sold it at a great loss.

I just acquired a Springfield R.O. compact that is a bit larger but is a much better gun IMHO.

I have Sig P 238 and 938 pistols that I really enjoy, bought a Kimber Micro .380 and found it to be a great little pistol abet no night sights and it sparked my desire for the Micro 9, maybe soon.

I've narrowed my next handgun down to either a Micro9 or a M1911 Officer's Model. After these reports, I'm leaning toward the M1911...

The traditionalist in me wants a single action auto with hammer but striker fired autos are looking more practical. The Sig 320 fits this category.

One thing that doens't sit well with me and this is probably just personal predigest but I don't like aluminum frames on a .45 ACP. I think it's Ok for a 9mm but .45's frames take more of a beating. The Springfield Range Officer looks fantastic but $750 for a .45 with an aluminum frame just isn't rigging my bells...

Contrary to the experience of others, mine has been perfectly reliable. It's not the smallest or lightest of the mini 9's, but it is easily the most comfortable of those for me to shoot. I would buy another.

My experience with a P938 says the theory is great.

I really wanted the Kimber, as I prefer its more 1911esque appearance, but with ambi safety and night sights, the SIG was about $300 cheaper than a similar Kimber.

Been wearing a Micro 9 as my EDC for several months in a N82 IWB holster. Several hundred rounds down the pipe; not a single problem so far. Ditched the rosewood grips a while back and threw on some Stoner CNC.

I was looking at Kimber awhile ago but went with the Colt New Agent , same as the Colt Defender only the defender has standard sights the NA has trench sights , its my carry gun , shoots as accurate as a 5" . Love shooting it , it came with Crimson Trace Laser grips . What else could you ask for in a carry gun . Give the Colt Defender a look .

Yeah, but it's a completely different class of gun.
I was shooting a compact 1911 prior to getting the P938, and there's just no comparison, in terms of size and weight.
If you must have a .45, then a Defender or New Agent would be great, but especially if we're comparing 9s, the Micro9 is a completely different animal.
