Kimber Micro Raptor

Has anyone had any experience with this new handgun? I've been looking at the Sig p238 for quite some time but this just looks sharp!

Very nice looking little pistol but I wouldn't want to EDC a gun with a name like micro raptor. Might be nice if you just wanted it to shoot at the range.

I'm just worried about how a name like that might play in a courtroom

Hmmm... I really doubt that the name of a firearm model involved is going to be a significant issue if that came to pass. Especially when the bearer didn't name it.

If that's the case then you better not shoot anyone with the Taurus Judge! It wouldn't be an EDC gun, that's what my sig 229 and HK p2000 are for

But I'm wondering if it's worth the bump up in price from the sig 238. I know Kimber has a reputation for feeding problems with the solo so I wasn't sure if this had any issues as well

And the Mustang is a nock off of the late Star DK ! Back on the topic, I have a 238 and like it very much as it is short range accurate, light and totally reliable. I also have a Kimber .45 that works just fine however have no experience with their 380. You might also look at the Sig P938 as it is only marginally larger than the 238 but packs a 9mm punch. I carry the P238 or P938 most of the time and they just disappear with an IWB holster.

The name of the firearm, or your ammo choice, will be brought up repeatedly in court if you ever have to face a jury as a result of using your firearm. Maybe some jurors will have the same opinion as you. Maybe they will be antis and the scary name will be the tipping point in their deciding that you must be a dangerous lunatic.

It's kind of like people who won't EDC pistols with a thumb safety. In the event that they have to use the firearm they don't want to introduce another variable into an extremely dangerous situation.

Not wanting to EDC a gun with a scary name is the same kind of idea. A jury trial is almost as dangerous as a gun fight in some ways and if you carry a gun with an intimidating name, you're introducing another variable that could be the difference between prison and freedom.

There are many other threads on this subject so I don't want to use this thread to belabour that point, but I do think it's a valid concern.

micro raptor, a really small bird of prey, hard to see that scaring anyone, guess a DA could find a way, really?

Think I will engrave my pistol SCUM REMOVER and load it with RIP ammo. That should make the jury happy.

Please don't shoot any one with the Hornady Zombie ammo. That might get you in trouble .

Bills right If your in court. You all read screwed up .

A Raptor is an extinct lizard or a Ford 150. Micro means pretty small extinct lizard. LOL
