I just traded for a Kimber gold match and know nothing about Kimber as this is my first. Any information will helpful. Thanks

I've owned a number of Kimbers over the years in .45, .38 Super and 9MM. Each one has been excellent. Mine have been reliable and quite accurate. I consider Kimbers to be some of the best values out there.

I like the older Kimbers a bunch but I've shot a crapload of them made in the last 20 years and they were all accurate 1911s. Good mags and proper extractor tension are a must for proper function with 1911s made by anyone. Kimbers certainly get dogged on a lot but the lower end models are a good buy at the price point. When you get up around $1200 or more there are much better choices.
