Kimber Elite Carry prices?

What is a good price I can expect to buy a Kimber Elite Carry for? (Stainless Lt. Wt. 45) Does the extra money justify getting the Elite Carry over the regular Carry. Anyone have any experience with either gun?

Price depends on who has them and demand and supply. I just know this. Expect some price increases in the next six months due to the lawsuits, shipping charges, and now that there is little competition with colt, Kimber will have some increases to dealers. I have received two small increases since December (average is up about $30 to $40 pergun so far to replace a stock item).

The difference between the two guns in the price is worth the money. Differences. Ambi-safety, Checkering, Tritium night sights, Tactical melt on the slide, teflon/poly finish on the slide (not really need on an aluminum frame), limited edition (not that big of a deal if it is a use gun), and someone to complain to. Kimber customer service is adequate. Price the difference for you getting any of the work done. (ightsight, 30lpi checkering front strap, ambisafety, dehorn job and you see what I mean).

Some folks have pure horror stories with the guns and others have orgasmic glee when holding them. You either get flamed or hosed when talking about them.

Your decision. I do feel the difference in the two guns (standard regular carry and elite carry) is worth the money.

I carry a Kimber Ultra Elite. At the time of purchase, it was $995 w/ one magazine.
I later saw it at a different dealer for $855. In other words, call around to see who has the best prices. I stick with my favorite local dealer mainly because of their excellent customer service. Plus I prefer to support mom and pop type shops.
Good luck!

I have both the Kimber Ultra Elite and the Kimber Pro Elite. This weekend I went to the Mesquite gun show to purchase the Kimber Combat or the Kimber Compact Elite (both from the custom shop but the only difference I believe is the rubber grips and some blackout on the beavertail/safety, etc on the Combat model). All had the meltdown, tritrium night sites, etc.

I noticed that Kennedys Corner out of Wichita Falls had the Ultra Elites for $859 (or thereabout). Docs had all of the customer Kimbers: Ultra Elite, Ultra CDP (new for 2000...on the Kimber website in place of the "Elites"), Pro Elite, Compact Elite and the Combat custom. For some reason the "elites" were more than the CDP models. Prices ranged from $859 to $939 depending on the model.

They are fabulous guns and I am haven't had any problems with any of them.
