kimber eclipse custom II

I recently purchached a kimber eclipse in the hopes of eventually using it for competition after I break it in. Single stack 45 acp. Is this going to get the job done? I also own a glock 17 that I have had 2 years, and have never had any issues. Are there different categories that I could use each gun with?

In USPSA/IPSC the best home for your Kimber is Single Stack Provisional; or with some extended magazines, Limited-10. Your Glock would fit right into Production.
You can get into IDPA with them, too; CDP for the Kimber, SSP with the Glock.
These are very popular and effective guns and they will get the job done as well as you can drive them.

Be sure the Kimber is "broken in" or otherwise made reliable if it is not now. You do not need to be studying malfunction clearances while you are learning the basics of the matches.
