Kimber Custom Classic

I just layed away a Kimber custom Classic today. Anyone got any experiences with one of these? Gripes or praises? If it performs anything like my first Kimber, a cdp ultra , I will be satisfied. I had been looking at a Randall and almost went for it, but The new Kimber was right at the same price as the used Randall. I got it for $625.00.I could also get a colt for this price NIB. Was this a decent price? Am I right in the assumption that Kimber doesn't offer a custom classic anymore? This one has the walnut grips and is blue. The fit and finish are excellent.I can't wait to pick it up. Thanks for any comments.

Hello. I'm not up on current prices so I cannot give a meaningful answer on whether or not you got a "good price." If you like the gun and it shoots, then the price was right!

I've owned a Kimber Custom Classic in plain blue finish for a few years now. The gun's been reliable and accurate. It's been fired several thousand rounds with no undue wear or loss of accuracy.

Some of my friends also have this model Kimber and I've shot their guns with no problems. I think they are very decent, very well-made guns for the money. Though others here have had problems, I've not, nor have I seen any.

Best.

cplane, that seems like a very reasonable price. I searched their web site as I'm sure you have and couldn't find that model. But from what I've seen around here, that's about what their "base" model Custom goes for. I too have one on lay-a-way. It's a nib Pro Elite, '99 custom shop gun. All of those seem to run in the 1000.00 to 1200.00 range. Good luck with it and let us know how it does.

Made ammo for and fired many Kimbers.
Never shot a bad one.

Most were very accurate, and the worst was still good!

I have owned two Kimber Classic Customs. $625 is a tiny bit on the high side but not outrageous. Both mine were 100% reliable and I wish I had them back, but now I have a Gold Match I like even better. :D
I think you'll be very satisfied with the pistol.

cplane,
I've had my Kimber Custom Classic for about
a year and a half, and I haven't had any problems with it. It is the gun I enjoy shooting most. However the blue finish seems to be a tad bit on the delicate side.
