Does anyone own the Full Size CDP and how do they shoot/Holdup . I was looking at that model and the Kimber Classic Custom like the Idea of a steel frame but the CDP looks good. Also how is the recoil with the aluminum frame..

Thanks:D

I am extremely happy with mine. And people always comment on the great "feel" of it. It balances real well and feels so light for its size.
It came just about perfect out of the box in every way, except that I added my trademark slim grips and adjusted the sights a little.
Mine has been %100 reliable, and it is as accurate as any custom production 1911 should be. Really, I could almost say it is my most favorite gun I have ever owned, but I am really careful about saying things that extreme. I have had mine about a year and it is still my currently favorite gun as well as my most carried gun (sans my KelTec P40).
I even have bought a CDP Compact since then, thinkiing it would be even easier to carry. But, the full size is just as easy to carry concealed for me, and it shoots better for me.
Compared to a steel 1911, the recoil does not feel any different really, but I imagine your split times are going to go up by a thousandth of a second or so (does that really matter anywhere but in gaming?). That is the law of physics: the lighter gun is going to flip a little more, but in reality the difference in felt recoil between the steel 1911 and the alloy CDP is negligable.
When I got my CDP I was going for a lightweight, slim, carry gun with all the benefits of a full-sized gun (long sight radius, full velocity, less muzzle flip, less muzzle blast/flash). To get it as light as possible, I even took out the full length guide rod and put in a Wilson polymer half-length guide rod, which saved me a few ounces. I am guessing it weighs in at less than 28 ounces unloaded. With slim grips on it, it is very easy for me to conceal, and its light weight makes it easy to carry. But when I draw it I have a "real" combat pistol in my hand. This gun fits my needs perfectly.
I think I am going to buy another one. That is how much I like it. I have had few guns in my life that I have bonded with as much as this one. Many guns I have owned are just another gun, but this one is "my" gun.
