Kimber 1911??

I noticed BassPro recently posted an ad with a Kimber "1911LW" for $599. Apparently it has an aluminum, not steel frame, I suppose like the smaller Kimber Micros. I went to Kimber's website and I couldn't find a thing about it.

Does anyone have any experience with this "LW" model? The price is tempting, especially given that it is a Kimber, but I'm not yet convinced that I want something beside real steel in my 1911.

Full size 1911 with an alloy frame.Lighter weight making it a little nicer for carrying-I have a Kimber Super Carry Pro with the alloy frame that has probably 500 rounds fired with zero appreciable wear on the feed ramp.

I have a Kimber custom shop CDP ll.

After over 10 years and over 10,000 rounds I have no issues with the frame.

The Aluminum frame makes it more carry friendly. I found out a long time ago that the gun you shoot the most is the one you have with you. If it's heavy it stays home.

Just get it, no worries.
