Kimber 1911 Raptor Series Design Issue?

How many people out there own a Kimber Raptor series 1911? Let's do a experiment. Take whichever model Raptor you have and make sure it's unloaded. Now put the safety on and give the muzzle a good firm smack with the palm of your hand. Is your slide stuck back about 1/16"? Now try disengaging the safety. If you are having the same issue as we are your safety has rode up into one of the oval shaped serrations that go all the way to the notch cut in the slide for the safety. If the serrations wouldn't have been cut all the way into this notch there would be no issue. Let me know how many there are out there. I'm currently aware of 4 that do this and come Monday it could be 6.

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer?
It certainly looks like a product defect, the slide seems to be wedging itself
between the thumb safety and the frame and the scalloped type serrations
are definitely located too far back.good luck

Ah Kimber....an advertising budget 20x what they spend in QC...I'd be interested in knowing if they pay for the fix including shipping or if they blow you off with the famous, "we fit 'em so tight that YOU have to put 300 rounds through them to "break it in"". Rod
