Kimball .30 Carbine handgun question, please help!

I am curious if someone can help me. I found a Kimball .30 in my deceased grandfathers collection. It appears untouched and in mint condition, with all original box, papers, purchase date and warranty information. I can only find limited information on this gun and no current information, all posts are years old. I understand these are not to be fired and there were less than 300 made, I have SN 106. I guess my question is what do I do with it? I am not trying to sell it for a quick buck and I've read I should donate it with my grandfathers information because its a part of handgun history. How would I find collectors who would appreciate this gun? Approx. value? Any and all information will help, thanks.

Old information or not, it is correct. Do not fire that gun! Even a magazine full can destroy the gun or, worse, leave the shooter with a slide in his eyeball!

Your grandfather knew that, and knew the gun would be a valuable collectors item some day. Some day is now, and those guns NIB are bringing over $2000 retail.

If you want to sell it, an ad in Arms and the Man or Gun Report might do it, or you can put it up on one of the gun auction sites and see what happens.

BINGO. He probably got it for a song and figured the above would happen.

On one hand, you could get some good money for it. On the other, it was your grandpas gun. On the other he obviously never shot it and just stuffed it into his safe. On the other, it's an interesting conversation piece to have.

Choices, Choices.

don't shoot it

Not an expert by any means, but I have an old article on the Kimball and it is clear they were not durable.

The ctg was to much for the design.

I have never seen one, other than pics. Congrats on your luck.

Not really germane to the topic, but Kimball also made tool room samples in at least two other calibres, 9mm Luger and .22 Hornet, both of which I have seen.
