Kentucky and the Old Dominion...compare and contrast

I'm a Virginia CCW holder with plans to travel to Kentucky. KY and VA have reciprocity, and I've read the packing.org page on kentucky laws, but can anyone give me any practical advice on what I can/should expect if I attempt to exercise my rights in KY. I'm specifically traveling in the Louisville area.

With a VA permit, you're essentially a Ky liscensee. Don't carry where they say 'don't carry' and you are sound as the pound!

One difference you will be glad to see is that you may carry concealed in restaurants, even ones that serve alcohol, provided that the restaurant receives more than 50% of their revenue from food sales. Stay out of bars though.

The pertinent chapters are 237 (most of the concealed carry statutes), 503 (Justification), and 527 (Offenses). Chapter 244 also contains some provisions related to places where alcohol is sold. While not exciting, these are not that difficult to digest.
