KelTek (I know, cheap) trigger question

KelTek P-11, 9mm 14 oz pistol. Suspicious cause of the price, but 300 rounds so far without any malfunction of any kind, with 10 round mag, and good accuracy from the sanbags makes me want to learn to like it. Trigger has a WAY LONG pull, and weighs 8 1/2 pounds. I can't seem to learn to shoot it well and wonder if that heavy pull is REALLY necessary for safety or just for liability concerns. I know their 8 OZ P8T has a 5 pound trigger.
Can I safely reduce the trigger pull, or have it done, and if so, how.

Thanks very much

There's a Keltec owners forum with a name that scapes me right now. Try a keyword search. You can get a lot of useful info there.
I have over 2k rounds on mine without any malfunction. I like it a lot that I will buy another one, maybe next month.

Thanks Labuyo

I put a trigger shoe on it, and it made it useable. What really made the difference was fabricating a simple trigger stop. Huge difference.
Reading good things about the 38T. Saw one and it looked too good to be true. Maybe that's next.

Thanks
