Keltec Sub2k

I recently had a buddy locate a Keltec Sub2000 a few weeks ago. After hundreds of rounds down range the little 9mm kept on going without a failure of any type. I've had one on order for about 6 months. They are very hard to find locally. After shooting it I decided to increase my efforst to find one and I did. I obtained an unfired 9mm model. I've never been a fan of Keltec and was a little curious how mine would function. I put hundreds of rounds through it in wet weather conditions and it functioned flawlessly. It was also very accurate. Props to Keltec for making a decent little carbine that works like it is designed to. It's not as refined and has a cheaper feel than my Beretta Cx4, but fills a niche and will be a keeper in the safe.

Paid 325 for mine used at the time I bought mine you couldnt touch one for under 350..

Apparently keltec makes their guns in phases and if you want one that is out of the phase it gets even harder to find them.

Keltec makes an awesome gun and the only one I am not a fan of is the p11(still a good gun though).

I found one that fit Sig magazines and surprising, it works flawlessly with CZ magazines which is another large pile of mags I own; the CZ75-26 round magazines fit and feed perfectly. I have the old version of Blue Force Gear’s front site post, a simple forearm under-rail and a Kydex tube cover on the stock. This is a very robust, mechanically simple and effective little carbine. Mine will keep them all in a 3” circle at a 100 yards if I do my part and I’m pretty satisfied with that level of accuracy from a pistol caliber carbine.

The beauty is how compact it can become once folded. You have can put a 100-150 yards capable pistol caliber carbine that will fit in a laptop sized bag with close to a dozen magazines and even an extra 100 rounds. A very discreet but potentially effective solution to certain niche situations where a full-sized rifle just doesn’t quite work.

Rock6, I like that tactical rail, how did you do that? Is that just a bolt on or did you have to mod the Sub2k in some way? I have a Sub rifle in 9mm (Glock) and a while back I looked at getting a rail on it but the only thing I could find out there was a real short rail that attaches to the screw at the front of the forearm, big enough for a flashlight or laser, but thats it.

Yes, A B, the Subbie (Sub 2000) is a good little carbine.

I have 2, 1 ea.- 9 &.40, and they are fun to shoot, easy to carry, well built and pretty accurate out to 75~100 yards..

I like them for a BOB gun.

I totally WECSOG'd it:D There are plenty of options like Te Anau linked to. I acutally used a piece of thin aluminum from an older AR handguard (trimmed with tin snips) and some extra accessory rails just like what Te Anau pointed to. The aluminum was just some extra backing for a more solid fix since the handguards are split down the center and it's been more than secure enough for a vertical foregrip and/or tactical light.

I wish I could afford one right now:(! I'd use it mostly in the Bug-out Bag, along with a 709 Slim and a 9mm CZ 75 with the tac light under the barrel plus 3 SPARE MAGS in addition to the ones in both guns.

The pic above isn't my gun, but I have the same spare mag holder on mine. It is a great accessory for these guns. It'll hold up to a 20 rd mag for a fast reload without affecting operation .

Sub 2K (Beretta Version)

Does anybody know if the Beretta 92 version of the Kel-tec Sub 2000 also accepts Taurus 92 magazines? I thought I read somewhere that the Taurus and Beretta magazines were interchangeable, so would that make the Taurus magazines compatible with the Kel-tec?
