My range has a LNIB Kel Tec Sub 9 carbine for $403 with my members discount.

I've heard they are accurate but a bear to fully takedown for cleaning. Hex nuts.

Is it easy to clean?
Accurate? Reliable? This one comes with two Glock 17 mags and a 30 round Scherer non drop free mag and it looks brand new. A guy just wanted another toy.

Should I buy it?

Best price I have heard in years, especially for the harder to find Gluck version. If I needed a 9mm carbine, that's the one I would want (H&K MP5 excepted).

I too have the chance to pick up a used Sub 9 in the G17 configuration. My primary concern is reliability and I would like to hear any of your experiences with it.

Have an extremely early SN. Have had some malfunctions- failure to feeds- almost going to actual jams.

These began occuring after I had put about 150 rounds through the piece. I haven't sent her back to KT yet for warranty work, because I plan on adding a scope mount and light, and haven't had the funds to do this yet.

All in all, despite the malfs, I think it's a great gun. An M-16 with a serial number under 150, I wouldn't expect to work at all! Highly accurate, and very handy.

I was talking to a guy from California and the kel Tec Sub-9 carbine is banned there and considered an "assualt rifle."

What a bummer. I have in-laws in Los Angeles but NOW I no I won't be moving back there.

Just gave KT my CC # and they'll be sending me a modified fore end for a new quick release scope mount for my Sub-9.

Now the question is which scope? A Hakko with different recticles? An OKO with a built in iron sight in case the electonics go down. Or just a nice Tasco ProPoint Comp model red dot with a 45mm lens. Who has any of these and loves them?
