ok who owns a kel tec??I'm looking(w/ NO money)for a 45acp.....are these any cheaper($wise)and how is there quality?What's a cheap 45 shooter??Resonably accurate and safe>>>?

I own a Kel-Tec P11 and am thoroughly pleased with it. Does exactly what it is supposed to do, when it's supposed to do it and for a great price. They do not make a .45 and I believe the discontinued the .40S&W.

The only similar .45 that I can think of is the Republic Arms Patriot .45. I have no experience with it, but have heard several positive reviews. (See attached).

I also like my P-11. If you want a 9mm for concealed carry, its a good one. You can probably find a used .40 if you look around. And you can get a .357SIG barrel for the .40, which IMHO would be the best option for small size/big bark.

I do not know of a small, inexpensive handgun (equiv. of P-11) in.45acp.

Glock makes some very fine small pistols, including a 10mm! They run $500-$700? Anyone know if there's a mini-Glock in .45?

Yes, of course Glock makes all calibers in Mini Glock size. The little .45 is a single stack with incredible accuracy. They also make a baby .357 which is exceptional as always.

I love my Keltec P-11 and P-32 would not suggest the P-40 as it was produced before Keltec had a handle on quality control. Many of the older Keltecs were problematic. Keltec has famously wonderful customer service however, so one good option is to find an old .40, whether it works or not and send it in for repairs. I'd check to see if Keltec is still supporting the P-40 however. It has been discontinued and is not scheduled for remanufacture or reissue.

Speaking of customer service...

I did just that (bouhgt a used P-11 and sent it in for repairs) and KT is amazing. I sent my P-11 with blue slide in for the HC (hard chrome) upgrade. The upgrade costs $20 and it gets you a new set of sights and a brand new HC slide. My gun was quite old 16xxx and had been "rode hard and put up wet" and it needed some help, but for the $150 I paid for it, I was happy. WELL...much to my pleasent suprise, KT replaced the WHOLE gun for the HC charge of $20. I was floored. I have a brand new HC KelTec P-11 for $170 plus shipping (one way!)

I was thouroughly impressed with their customre service AND the gun as a whole. If you want a small concealable 9mm...KT takes the cake - especially for the money you will spend. I looked at the Taurus, but there was NO comparison in the trigger actions.

If you want to spend some more money, there are always the baby or mini Glocks, but they are pretyt steep (at least for me at the time they were) and the other options out there don't have the size and quality factors like the KT does. Try it...you'll like it.

Check out KTOG and read their info and reviews.

Good luck!

David

I bought the Taurus PT-145 several months ago. I chose it over the Mini Glocks for several reasons. The main being cost, as I couldn't afford the Glock at the time ($360 for the Taurus), but also it is shorter in lenth and height than the Glock, and has has a smaller grip, with a higher cap magazine. I've put over 1500 rounds through it without so much as a burp.

Taurus pt 145

I'd vote for the Taurus PT 145 also. It holds 10 rounds, which is unusual for a .45 and is a good shooter. The price is in the high $300 range here and it's very concealable.

PT 145

Search for PT145 here. There are a ton of articles about the back of the frame splitting and shearing slide stops and pins.

The mini Glock in .45 ACP is the Glock 36. It has the same dimensions as the Colt Officer's .45. I've seen them sell at gun shows in Atlanta, GA for around $530.
