Does anyone on here have or have had a kel-tec PLR-16 pistol, does it accept a AR-15 magazine? Are the very accurate? maybe a good JIC weapon?

I only use AR mags in mine. Don't think I've ever used the original plastic job. Lots of fun and addictive.

My brother has got one. He loves it. It is definitely a blast to shoot, very loud and lots of muzzle fire. I kinda envision it as a pistol-grip shotgun type version of the AR15, ie hip firing using a laser.

Yes, it'll take any AR-15 mag. I only use Magpul PMAGs in both my AR and my PLR-16 and they work great, I've never had a malfunction or issue of any kind.

In my experience (I've had mine for a couple of years) they are very reliable and surprisingly accurate. I have an Eotech 512 on mine and I keep it in my gear bag in the front passenger seat when I'm on duty. Much faster to reach than my Ar-15.

The PLR-16 is really an innovative design by Kel-Tec. They are surprisingly accurate for a 9-inch barrel, and very dependable.

(microgunner, you'd better lose that foregrip man...)

Have the SU16C which is the same action and have used it with numerous plastic and metal mags and it works great with all of them. Zero hang ups or stove pipes etc.

fun gun, could be one of my best fun guns to shoot? oh it was until i got a super redhawk 44 mag with h110 reloads!
anyway, i have had good luck with my plr16 after i sent it back for a fluf and buff to the factory.it did not feed and cycle properly.
it runs great now, many hundreds of rounds through it.i seem to think
it likes the pmags the best, but runs on most.
the people at the range sure look at you when you shoot it--very very loud!!
oh and dont be stupid like me (few years ago) and put a forgrip on it at the range-the rangemaster explained the whole law to me and now i know!!
ive been even thinking about geting another one-not sure why!

The factory muzzle brake on these is very effective and keeps it short and light. I love to shoot them with one hand but it's a shoulder workout to hold it up lol. It's been hard for me to really be accurate with it but I don't think it's the pistols fault. It's just a bit cumbersome. Super fun though! Very very clean shooting too. Hardly needs cleaned after 100 rds.

I received a test sample from Kel-Tec some months ago.
Here is the review

I wound up liking it very much and bought the test sample. I have had it out a few times since the review and it is still flawless.

I tried it with 20 and 30 round AR magazines as well as the factory magazine and it ran well.
Accuracy was better than expected. Please take a look at the review, it may help answer a few of your questions

On the upside, there is a forward triangle "grip" that doesn't annoy the BATF...

And the sling works nicely as a support, instead of pulling back like you would on a rifle,
you push forward to engage the sling, which helps to triangulate the pistol...
