Kel Tec P11 Problems

My problem is I can't find one! No dealers have them, the distributors for my local dealers don't have any in stock, and when they did, they were gone the same day :(

I wish people would go back to sept 10th attitudes for a little while and stop buying up all the guns I want!

Well, I got one I dont like. Trigger Pull is about 275 lbs.

If I were you, I would continue the search for the Holy Grail of CCW... the Kel Tec P11 aint it.

Keep looking, you`ll find one. The spec trigger pull for the P-11 and P-40 is 8.5lbs. The trigger pull is long but actually lighter than almost all DA revolvers (go ahead measure it). It takes some getting used to but don`t let it scare you off. Marcus

I know the downsides of the p11, and I also know the tricks the people at ktog use to improve the pistol. Plus, it also uses the same high-caps as my other 9mm, so that's another point in it's favor.

ive said it befor and ill say it again....reasons i choose the kel-tec p-11 over the other pistol i was considering - taurus pt-111 millinum. these 2 pistols are almost exactly the same in physical dimensions, and thats what i was looking for, small, ccw 9mm.

1. price, kel-tec was $209 taurs was $279

2. size, while not much smaller, the kel-tec was smaller

3. trigger, people complain the p-11 is too long, or too heavy. when i was examining the pt-111 about 1/3-2/3 of the way thru the trigger pull it felt as if something was chaffing, and i didnt like the feal of friction there

3. no external safety, some might view this as a minus, but its a dao, the trigger IS the safety and its one less thing to get hung up on

4. feel in my hands (prob one of the more important things). i have small hands, and short thumbs wich ruled out glock double stackers (not to mention the doubled price tag) and the p-11 just seemed to fit better.

after the fact. ive run 550rnds thru my p-11 and did have a failure to feed problem around 275. i sent it back to kel-tec where i also paid the $20 for the hard chrome slide/barrel and had them chek it out. came back just fine. ive read everyone elses problems with failure to feed and failure to extract, and ive had a few here and there, most likely cause was either a limp wrist or limp elbow on my part. ive read just as many if not worse things about the pt-111. i carry the p-11 everyday with me and have full condfidence in it as a close combat self defense gun.

my 2 cents
