I am looking for a small dependable gun.
I have no ccw so size is only a personal preferance to me.
At my local gun shop they have a Kel Tec p-32 for 225.00 it is small and light and fits my hand ok. they also had a LLAMA micro max parkarized 380. looked and feeled like a 2/3 size government model. knowing glocks will shoot forever as well as 1911 45's i was wondering if any one here has an opinion if either or would be a good "last forever" gun. I can do polishing of feed ramps and things of that sort to get the gun to feed initially but i was wondeing which gun will self destruct first.

Llama's are crap. I have had a Llama .380 start shedding parts while shooting.

KelTec P32's are great. Most are reliable from the box, some must go back to the factory. The factory is supposed to be VERY customer friendly.

If you want a gun that will last forever and will fit smaller hands, then look at the Glock 19.

From my limited experience with Micromax 380: if you want a gun of that size, shop for a used Colt Mustang. If you want a smaller and much lighter gun, get the P32. Micromax wasn't all that accurate and seemed poorly enough mad ethat I had decided against getting it. Look up older threads under "micromax 380"

I happen to have both guns, (nobody laugh, the Llama was cheap), and they really fit in totally different categories. If I had to toss one in a river, it would be the Llama, since I'd much rather have the Keltec.

Since you're not looking for a carry gun, I'd consider a full size handgun. They're generally much more plesant to shoot, and will also generally be more reliable. One good choice that won't break the bank is the Makarov in 9x18. Ammo is plentiful and cheap, and you can buy an excellent East German manufactured one from AIM for $160 for the "select" version. I have one of those, that it would be a good choice for an inexpensive yet reliable gun. It's smaller than truly "full size" pistols, but big and heavy enough to be fun to shoot. It's also 100% reliable, and it should last forever.

I already have a makarov and a cobray M-11 and a few 22 auto's and revolvers, i just don't have anything like either one of the guns i asked about.
Johnwill other than that it's not your favorite. do you have any complaints or praises about your llama?

If you're comfortable with something as large the as Llama .380, look at the Kel-Tec P-11. Ten rounds of 9mm is better than a smaller number of .32 or .380 rounds.

If you want to look into an affordable 380 look into a Bersa. I've had bad luck with them, but a lot of people report positive experiences.

Not really, it's actually an OK gun. I got it because it was cheap, and it was a 1911 pattern pistol, I thought it was kinda' cute. :) It actually shoots pretty well, and I've seen no indications that the quality is as rotton as some claim. I did break out my Dremel tool and do some polishing on it before I ever took it to the range, that may have had a positive effect. My real problem with the gun when you think about practicability is that it's neither fish nor foul. It's really too big for a .380, and it's too small a caliber for a gun that size. OTOH, since you have other guns, if you like the little Llama, there's no reason to not have it. I wouldn't pay more than around $200 for it...

i'd have to agree johnwill it is just so darn cute, that's why i like it. as far as function goes a dao or double single action pistol would be more functional, it is just a attractive to my tastes gun. i just wanted to make sure that it would work.

thanks everyone for your imput.
