Kel-Tec P-11 9mm

I am very interested in buying a Kel-Tec P-11 to carry for the summertime. I currently have a H&K USP40 and a CCW but I would like something a lot smaller to conceal when I wearing some shorts and t-shirt. I've shot my friends several times and really like it - but he has only had it for a month. I was wondering if anyone on here has had much experience with one. It seems like for $249.00 it's a hell of a deal - anyone know something I don't? Thanks :)

Carry one daily.

No jams at all in about 900 rounds, fmj, jhp silver tips etc.

Never "fluffed and buffed" either.

You'll most likely spend money on accesories to make it easier to shoot and aim, but it's light, it holds 10 + 1 9mm and it's simple to operate.

Fits on my ankle very nicely or using the belt clip accesory, under an untucked golf shirt while wearing shorts in the summer.

Get a mag shoe with a the finger groove, a trigger shoe, and the belt clip.....at least.

I'm thinking of upgrading mine to hard chromed barrel and slide. It's only $20 and then I don't have to worry as much about sweat rusting it since I carry it next to my body at times.

It's a bear to get used to the long trigger pull but you will.

Nice thing about the long trigger pull is you don't worry about the lack of a safety.....it's like a revolver trigger pull.

Great little gun. Got mine at a gun show for $219. Spent about $80 on extra mags, mag shoes, trigger shoe and belt clip.....all worth it......

Cheers

What Coz said.

Except I got mine used, and have not put any accessories on it. I lightly lubed the transfer bar where is goes along the right side of the frame, and lightly lubed the striker (hammer) pivot point, and the trigger is fine. Still long, but smooth and not too hard.

Search my old post about shooting the P-11 at 100 yards....

I have a lot of fun with it.

Me too-what Coz said. I also added Ashley "Big Dot" tritium sights. No doubt about it, this is pretty much a close up encounter type of SD pistol, and that Big Dot is a perfect set up for it. It's not my first choice for concealed carry, but then until you've tried to go through a Texas summer, you may not be able to appreciate it. geegee

It's been hinted but not mentioned outright...

$249 is not really a great price... Unless it has a chrome plated slide.
$199 - $229 is what I'd expect to pay for a blued P11.

Good luck!
