Kel-tec Klone

At the Austin, TX gun show the other day,
I was with a Kel-tec carrying friend. At one table we saw what looked like Kel-tec knock off by Standard Arms of Nevada IIRC.

Any info? Table was jammed and we didn't get a chance to ask.

Glenn, I saw that pistol at SHOT and covered it in one of my reports from Las Vegas, but I cannot locate any of the posts I made in January with the SEARCH. I do not have the info handy, it is in Austin, but as I remember it would be about $50 less than a Kel-Tec and of a bit lower quality.

Geez, Keltecs are already pretty cheap. $50 less would put it in the $200 ballpark. I assume we're talking about a P-11 clone correct?

I've been toying with picking up another one. I had one oif the first stainless guns and I had problems with it. Parts breakage, cracked slide etc. Later I found that it wasn't uncommon and that Keltec no longer offers stainless due to metalurgy problems. I've always been curious about trying a blued or chromed one instead and seeing if it's any better. I've had a Keletc P-32 for about a year now and it's been pretty decent.

How close are these new guns to the KT? Are they actually for sale yet?

Actually in our area the Kel-Tec is $189-$209 for NIB so the knockoff is around $150. I saw it at the SHOT Show, if Glenn saw it at a gun show then they must be available.

That's pretty cheap. Keltec's are around $239-$249 local (Pittsburgh) and I never really thought that was bad. What area of the country are you guys from?

I'll be curious to see how they perform.

Bought my Kel-Tec P-32 last week, NIB $239.00 plus tax. Nice gun, shoots good, no jams with hard ball and silver tips. It shoots to point of aim at 7 yards. Its the perfect gun for when you are unarmed, such as church or when you can't carry your Glock or 1911...7th

I've had my P-32 for about a year now 7Th Fleet. No problems. I use winchester and Rem ball for practice and Speer Golddots for carry.

You're right about it being the perfect gun for when you're "unarmed". I use it as my wedding/go to church and visit the in-laws gun :)

General, I live in Austin, Tx and I think Glenn is in San Antonio. We get some really cheap gun shows in Dallas and Houston because some of the national distributors set up there and compete with each other. This clone is a P-11 copy not a P-32 if there was any question.

Yeah, I figured you meant it was a P-11 clone. The rest of the thread just sorta devolved into a P-32 discussion :)

I'll have to keep an eye out for the P-11 clones though. Not that I really need another carry gun but I've been kicking around another P-11 anyway, so I'd least like to take a look at one of these.

Sounds like I need to move to texas before I buy though ;)
