i am planning a Mule deer hunt this november in Montana;
Eastern Montana. And, of course, i am concerned about bears.
(I know there aren't many bears in eastern Montana).
So, in consideration of the risk i need a 44 magnum...
or, since i like them so much a 45 colt...

So i went by ye olde gun shoppe and, lo and behold, they have
Smith & Wesson 'Mountain Gun' blued, 4 inch barrel in
BOTH .44 magnum AND .45 Colt...
decisions, decisions, decisions...

so, i bought them...both :cool:
and OF COURSE when i got home, the .45 colt went into the
back of the gun vault and the .44 magnum was presented
to Mrs. Doc as a belated mom's day gift :D

now if i can just find someone who needs some hand loads tested...
 
The Model 25 Mountain Guns are a stocking dealer special this year. Finding a New-In-Box Model 29 Mountain Gun from last year, however, is quite a coup!

I was actually looking for a M 25, i kinda like that 45 colt,
but right next to it, like a sister was the M 29 (from last year).
I am not sure why they were both there together, maybe
to distributor had both, i thought the M 28 was from last year.

so many guns, so little time...(and money)
