Keeping the faith

I was considering selling my S&W 340 scandium 357 J-Frame and buy a Glock 26. After a lot of thought I decided not to and buy a better holster. I am not as good with my revolver as I am with a semi-auto and so I got caught up thinking my answer was a different pistol. The first rule I remember is to have a gun and most of the time living here in FLorida I look for the most lightest thinnest concealable firearm I have. I think the J-Frame fits the bill nicely. So instead of taking a hit on a very nice revolver I decided to keep it, get a trigger job and a practice more.

Has anyone left their CCW revolver for an auto then realized they missed or enjoy a revolver more and then returned to carrying a revolver again?

  1. I bounce back and forth. It is not an issue for me. Revolvers are fun for me and I train with them.
  2. There is absolutely no reason why you cannot have, and carry, both--even at the same time!
  3. When I carry a revolver, I take advantage of its one true advantage: caliber. I either carry something chambered in a magnum caliber or a big bore.
  4. Practice is good, but a J-Frame is not my idea of a training gun. I want at least a 3" barrel, six shots, some recoil absorbing weight, and enough barrel for GREAT performance. I won't carry snubbies, so it all works out.
