I've had several people ask me lately, how to keep the squirrels and coons out of their feeders, so I thought I would pass along this idea.
You can buy tack strips from your local carpet dealers or lumber company by the box, for a fair price. These strips are used around your living room edge, to hold the carpet down around the edges of your room. They have extremely sharp points sticking out all over them. They can be cut, and glued or zip tied around the legs of your feeder, as well as put on the sides of your feeder to keep animals from hanging on and spinning all your feed out on the ground.
Be careful when filling your feeder, as they will get you as well as the squirrels.
These points will stay sharp for a very long time, and the animals do not like them at all.
