The Kansas Senate just overode the Governor's veto of S418 by a vote of 30 to 10.

CCW will now go to back to the house.

Contact your representatives and ask them to OVERIDE the governor's veto of S418 :D

It looks like this could finally be the year for CCW in Kansas. :)

Originally, the Kansas Senate passed the bill 29-11 so it looks like they actually gained another vote on the veto override.

Last week the Kansas House passed the bill by a similar margin, 90 - 33. If the vote today in the Senate is any indicator, Kansas will be "Shall Issue" on January 1, 2007!

Now Let's Work the Kansas House for a Veto Override

Just received this from the NRA:

Kansas Senate Overrides Governor's Veto!

House Vote Tomorrow - Call your State Representative Now!

The Kansas State Senate stood up for the citizens of Kansas and voted 30 to 10 to override Governor Sebelius veto of the Right to Carry legislation. A vote to override the Governor's veto will take place in the House as early as 9 a.m. tomorrow. It is critical that Kansans call their State Representative immediately and ask them to continue their support of Right to Carry.

Regardless of where you live, these State Representatives listed below need to hear from you. They are receiving extreme pressure from Governor Sebelius to change their vote.

Isn't this great?! Call and Write those Reps NOW! BE NICE! :D

Wrote my Rep., fingers crossed.

I will be SO GLAD to see that godawful long state that I have to keep driving through have some decent gun laws.

To break up that drive across KS on I-70, you must visit "The Garden of Eden" in Lucas, KS (if you haven't already) just follow the signs. It's about 15 miles I think north of I-70. This is high on my list of the most bizzare attractions I have ever seen. A must see, (pay the extra $1.;)) :D
