So, I've been around for awhile, mostly just reading and learning (there are some very wise people here ) and felt compelled to ask this question. If it does not belong in the Legal and Political part, I apologize up front.
I have lived in Kansas all my life. I followed (with interest and excitement) the development of the CCW laws here. As soon as my financial situation allows I will purchase a handgun and obtain my CCW permit. However, as I look around me, I'm finding less and less reason to. With the exception of few places, most business seem to put those stupid "No-Carry Stickers" in the windows. Recently I had a conversation with a manager at IHOP and was told that they "had to have it up because the law said that a 24-hour business can't allow patrons to carry weapons" which is a load of crap.
Anyone else have this problem? I have a friend that's lived in Arizona for about 3 years now, and said he's seen 1 of those stickers at the DMV, where you can't carry anyway. Is it because Kansas is still new to the whole CCW idea? Will it get better? I'm debating just moving elsewhere because I feel that as a law abiding American, I should be able to exercise my Constitutional rights. Am I wrong to want to protect myself and others (hopefully never, but if needed)?
