Kansas City Follows Cincinatti's Lead: Violent Crime Initiative

Due to high rates of violent crime (to include many firearm related homicides), KC has been consulting with Cincinatti officials to learn how Cincinatti radically reduced violent crime.

KC plans to implement some comprehensive changes, in cooperation with the US Attorneys office and other agencies. There seems to be something in it for everybody: Police and prosecutorial focus on recidivists and gang members; parallel action by local and federal authorities to compel gang members to regulate and testify against their own; and educational and employment initiatives.

Does this mean they will be shutting down The Plaza and Westport?

Good news, if they implement it correctly. Target the people responsible and not the responsible people.
