Kaltenegger's Eastern Front Sniper

The only saving grace of the book is Martin Pegler's introduction and the German sniping manual Martin provides. It's weak sauce as it is very sparse on the details of Matthaus Hetzenauer's experience as his techniques in becoming Germany's highest scoring sniper in WW II.

Anyway, there is a full length "photo" of Hetzenauer standing in uniform (glossy photo pages between 60 and page 61) with a scoped K98k, binoculars and iron cross first class. Well, look at his head. It looks like it was clumsily cut and pasted over another man's body. There's a white line where the chin should be and it's as if his head was floating over the neck. Opinions?

Can anyone ID the scope on the K98k?
