Kahr/Thompson Center 1911?

I saw an ad in a magazine a couple of weeks ago with an ad from Kahr/Thompson Center, that said they were making an exact replica of a WWII 1911. Does anyone have any information on this, or where I might be able to pick one up?

Thanks

I also seen a mag. ad for the Kahr/Thompson. What I don't understand is it's "Completely redesigned and reengineered". If it's an exact copy 1911 how can it be either? Kevin:confused:

Kahr bought the Auto Ordnance company from Numrich/Gun Parts.
The Auto Ord 1911 is a CLOSE, (but not perfect) copy of the 1911A1. One difference is the slide serations are angled like most newer autos are. The original 1911 were straight up. Also the usual differences in triggers, etc.

Does anyone know if the frames/slides are forged or cast? Kahr seems to have "forgotten" to mention that information in their ads. Has the quality improved over the A/O days? Could they mean in "completely redesigned and re-engineered" that the tooling has been improved?

Auto Ord casted their frames and slides. I don't know for sure, but I'm willing to bet that Kahr does too, since they cast their frames.
