Kahr - Thompson - Auto Ord 1911?

Now that Kahr has bought out Auto-Ord and are making 1911A1's under the Thompson name - trademark there have been several atricles about how good the pistols are. (From what I saw of the prior A/O 1911's any change for the good would rate rave reviews but that is besides the point.)

None of the articles mentioned if the frames and slides are cast, machined from flat stock or forged and machined. Does any one know?

DO NOT Take a Gun Rag's word on ANYTHING.

If the AO is anything like my K9 was before I ditched it and scores of other Kahr Pistols mentioned on this board, you will be sending it back to the factory.

I have not even seen one let alone....

....held one. I get the impression that the writters have been paid to write something nice about the pistols but then spent more time talking about finding the correct "military" style holster to go with it. Which led me to ask the question.

I would think that how the pistol was made would be of some importance in any article about it, if the brand name had a less than stellar reputation before being sold to another company.

Will Beararms,

Just curious, what problems did you have with your Kahr K9? Most of the problems I have heard seem to be from those who bought the P-series. I have the K9 and haven't had any problems with it, but only have about 3-400 rounds through it. However, I bought it used, so it was already 'broken in' [Kahr does state it takes 2-300 rounds to break in, if I am remembering the manual correctly]. Just curious, so I know what to watch out for.

Having been completely burned by Kahr and their worthless pistols, I wouldn't believe anything you read or hear. When I called the service department to get my Kahr repaired the guy said they were backed up with repairs on the AO line, so that told me what I needed to know, it all sucks!
