1. Why did the stop using Nickel finish?
2. Suggestions for K9 holster. Kydex or leather IWB.
3. Does it pay to have "Elite" trigger upgrade and is it available on nickel finish?
1) Don't know. I assume because it wasn't selling enough.
2) I use horsehide IWB holsters from Rusty Sherrick: http://www.c-rusty.com He does great work and is a nice guy to do business with.
3) I have upgraded the trigger on my K40. My K9 and MK9 are stainless elite models, so they came with the elite trigger. I think the elite trigger is better than the standard trigger. Is it worth $100? You'll have to decide that yourself. I'm sure they can upgrade your gun, but the trigger might not match the finish. My K40 has the Black-T finish, also discontinued, but they were able to upgrade the gun.
I bought the parts last year to upgrade mine-trigger,bushing, and spring- about $50. Hardest part is pushing out the trigger pivot pin.
Well worth the effort though
