Kahr PM9 Black Rose Edition

Hi Everyone:

My LGS had a "like new" condition Kahr PM9 Black Rose with Crimson Trace and two magazines for a super good price. I happened to be carrying a PM9 (Massachusetts compliant version with safety and loaded chamber indicator) at the time and decided to trade it for the Black Rose. I accepted $400.00 trade in value and paid an extra $200.00 plus tax out the door. I think I paid a fair price, and better yet, got a nice gun that does not need a safety feature...

I love the satin stainless steel look of the new gun. However, I keep reading comments from Kahr fans that assume the gun is meant for ladies, hence the engraved rose on the slide... Take a look at the photo and please let me know if you agree with those gun fans. Do you think it looks girly?

No worries, it's a nice looking gun. I own a beautiful colorful Sig P238. It's my "barbecue gun". I'm long past caring what others think about my taste. Carry it with pride. I also own a Kahr PM9 and love the gun. Major

I definitely plan to carry it and enjoy shooting it at the range. I just wish the manufacturer had named it something else like Black Knight or Black Silver or so... Don't you think?

Even without the "Gift of Death" reference I don't think it's too girly. Some guys are just too insecure in their masculinity. I think it's a nice looking pistol. But hey, I've carried a S&W 3919 Lady Smith in the past, so maybe I'm not the right guy to answer the question. :D

The black rose is awesome, nothing feminine about that,, I like,,:D

Now on the other hand if it was a pink rose or yellow tulip or something like that ,me thinks that might be a little girly looking,,,lol:eek:

Well, if you're Irish (Róisín Dubh) or a Goth, a pistol with a black rose on it would be most appropriate. A pistol that shoots well and can be tucked nicely in the pocket ... most appropriate no matter how it's decorated. ;)

I have a plain old PM9 that has worked great right out of the box. Super sub compact with a great trigger. I doubt a BG staring down the wrong end of the barrel will care if you're effeminate or not. ;) What's the whole "Black Rose" thing about anyway?

Never mind. I went to the Kahr website. They have a pink T-Shirt with the Black Rose Design on the front. No other color, but you could get a size that fits I'm pretty sure... ;) Nice looking engraving, but I think they are marketing it towards the ladies. Too bad they don't make a slide with a coiled snake, or a shark or something. Or maybe have left off the "Black Rose" and just had the image.

At least not to my face. ;)

Now I've taken good-natured ribbing about it,,,
But no one has given me any real grief.

Carry what you want my friend,,,
Outshoot the jokesters,,
That's what I do.

I've totally thought about the Black Rose Edition P380. I own a K9 Elite and it's a better gun that the rest of the Kahr line (in my opinion) because of the greater care put into making the gun. My hope would be that the Black Rose would also be a better P380. You got a good price on it. Let us know how she runs!

I love the black rose etching on it - I think it looks fantastic. I just don't particularly like the fact that it says "Black Rose Edition" on the slide.

That's just my own personal psychosis working, though. I was very interested in buying a Ruger GP-100 Match Champion, except for the obnoxious 'Match Champion' lettering on the barrel.
