I am thinking about buying one of these pistols for an off-duty and daily plainclothes carry gun. What kind of experience do you guys have with this version (the polymer frame)? What kind of prices did you pay (list is $527)?

Wayne;

I bought one about a month ago. It has had Zero hailures of any type with about 4 different types of ammo (400 rounds). It is accurate and the trigger is good for a DA. You may want to do a search also. There have been a few recent posts on it.

Since I live in a state with restricted CCW and am not in LE, I can't comment on those issues. It does fit nicely in a pants pocket around the house.

It is also easy to take down and clean.

MikeK, What did you pay for it? I'm interested in a P9 also but have only seen them at one gunshow and before I could get back to the table to give it a second look and check on the price it was GONE!!! :(

I too am real interested in getting one as it seemed well balanced and would be easy to conceal in a pocket holster without the heft of it's kissin' cousin K series of which would be better in an IWB holster IMO.

Recently bought one, shot it today 150rounds no malfunctions. The recoil is very tame. I excepted much more with its light weight. The big sharp slidestop wasnt much of a problem with my firing grip. Shot to point of aim. I am very impressed. Usually, I stay with West German stuff. sig,hk,glock. Not being stuffy they just make a superior product, this gun was very well thought out. Like it much more than my MK9.

I just bought one at a local shop for $450 which I think was a great deal?? anyway, I haven't shot it yet but I bought it because I like 9mm and my other small carry gun is a colt agent (alloy frame 6 shooter in .38). I took in the agent and compared it in the shop to the P9. The P9 felt lighter ( I think they are actually the same) was smaller in height, lenght and width (across cylinder). It also has a much lighter double action trigger and IMHO the agent is the best lightweight .38 snubby you can buy with a very nice trigger. BUT I prefer auto's and my other pistol is a 9mm CZ-75 so I only have to buy one type of pistol ammmo.

Anyone want an Alloy agent with the factory hammer shroud and pachmer compact rubber grips? It's parkerizd so not as pretty but very rust proofed. Like new..I think :) It comes with a speed loader, 2 speed strips and a IWB holster which is almost new. Special for you $350 ;) shipping and FFL fees not included...LOL

If any of you are considering one of these, I highly reccomend that you find one with the elite trigger. It should say elite on the left side by the P9 near the muzzle. These triggers are buttery smooth, and IMHO quite a bit better than the stock trigger. The one I saw was around $500, so they really aren't any more expensive. I'm guessing that the DAO pull was <5lbs. Very nice.

I've seen and handled about ten of these so far. All had the same weight and feel to their trigger as mine, and none were so marked. ? ? ?

Wayne,

Very happy with my P9. About 400 rounds through with not one FTF. I paid $469 for mine (which included shipping) off Auctionarms from a guy in Bryan TX. Perhaps this is near you? E-mail me for details if you're interested.

Worried from RCS post I emailed Kahr. All of the P9's incorporate the elite trigger. None are supposedly marked on their slides. The non-polymer frames are so marked.

Wayne, contact Dr David Avery in McKinney or stop by Bachman Gun & Pawn on NW Hwy in Dallas. They both carry the P9 and have some of the best prices in Tx.

Thanks Sox for the info...

PS One of those Houge Handal Jr. fit real nice and rubber sticks to your fingers nicely plus the slightly round out the rectangular grip if that matters to anyone.

Hmm, sorry my memory must be faulty. It could be that I looked at a K9 at the same time and it was so marked. I do definitely remember that the dealer had marked "elite trigger" on the ticket attached to the gun.

I apologize for any confusion that I caused.

I have one too and like it a lot. I'm having problems finding a holster though (strong side belt preferably). What holsters are you you P9 shooters using?
