Kahr P9 Feeding Problems

I recently purchased a new Kahr P9. I really like the gun because is very light, thin, accurate and has a good trigger. Unforntunately, it does not feed properly. For example, the slide often (every seven rounds or so) locks back when chambering a round after firing a shot. To clear the problem, I rack the slide and continue shooting. I shot about 300 rounds with this gun.

Do I need to shoot more rounds to break the gun in or, should I send it back to Kahr for servicing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard reports that some Kahr P9's have had slide stop problems. Kahr recommends a 200 round break in period.
I would suggest returning it to Kahr, with a good letter of explanation. Something is wrong.

Yep, send it back to Khar and they will take care of the problem. When you disassemble the P9, you should see a screw holding in the slide release spring. If it is just a small tab without a screw - you need to send it in for the mod. Symptons of a gun without the screw are premature lock up on a full mag and/or failure to lock on the last round.

P9 is shooting fine

I finally received my P9 that I sent back to Kahr. My P9 now shoots fine without any problems. Thank you for your help.

I, too, just received my P9 back from Kahr and it seems to be working fine (I've only shot 100 rounds through it since). My problem was the gun not going into full battery about 10% of the time.

One thing: DO NOT send it back without first calling Kahr and getting an authorization number. This will protect you and will make it easier to get status updates on your gun.

They took almost 6 weeks to get my gun back to me. But, if it's fixed that's OK. However, it's still disappointing to have to send a new gun in to have it fixed.
